Originally from Ocala, I moved to Lakeland in 1999 to work as a staff writer for The Ledger. Since then, I have run a small non-profit organization and served as Southeastern University's public relations director prior to striking out on my own in May 2007, when I created Lorrie Walker Communications, Inc. LWC is a public relations firm that specializes in quality writing and editing services.
I've found that many company owners know what they do when they go out daily and perform their jobs, but putting that in writing often is a difficult task. That's where I come in. I write compelling copy that accurately conveys the desired message.
On a personal level, I love all things Lakeland. I am a huge supporter of community events, volunteering and being actively involved in any efforts that make Lakeland a better place to live.

Not the Place for Steak

 We have been to Longhorn on numerous occasions and 75% of the time, we've had to send back the steaks for being [ ...More ] under-cooked or over-cooked. But I can say this: Longhorn should hang onto its managers, specifically Angela and Mark. Their professionalism is second to none, and Mark has a way of keeping his cool even in the most hectic of situations. We have gotten more free meals from Longhorn because of their cooking mishaps, but it's because they strive to get it right eventually. We still go to Longhorn occasionally, but we usually order shrimp or chicken now. [ ...Less ]

Steve at Pro Care put new tires on my car today. I can't describe how nice it is to have an honest, reputable mechanic so close by. I highly recommend Pro Care.

I noticed a couple of things just now that I thought I'd point out, in the event you want to address them.
1) Ale Gators is listed under businesses with 4 reviews and under entertainment with 8 reviews. Why? Why list them both places?
2) It would be great to scroll through the pages by the letter...
